It’s a year to remember for the BMW family as the automaker celebrates the 40th anniversary of both the founding of BMW North America and its first major motorsports win at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The celebration will officially take place on April 1 and 2 at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. In honor of the milestone, some of the brand’s classic vehicles that helped establish BMW’s reputation in North America will be on display.
If you were to travel to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in mid-Manhattan, you would see a display of the legendary 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL, which was the first to cross the finish line that day at the 12 Hours of Sebring race. You would also find the 2015 BMW Z4 GTLM, this year’s race car ready to take on the Tudor United Sports Car Championship Series. The two racers are decades apart, but both deserve to be dubbed “The Ultimate Driving Machine.”
In addition, BMW will debut the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe, the “fastest BMW car sold on the showroom floor.” Its debut marks the 50th anniversary of ALPINA Automobiles.
Like we at Perillo BMW said, this is a year to remember for BMW fans and enthusiasts, and the fun is just beginning. Stay tuned for the latest updates on all things BMW.
