BMW Urban Cross built on on BMW X1 small crossover success

Audi may have recently announced that they’re working on a new Q1 crossover, but BMW is already hot on their heels with a vehicle that will surely rival if not top Audi’s newest project.

The new BMW has been codenamed “Urban Cross,” according to a German car magazine. The vehicle will reportedly be placed just below the X1 crossover, but will have an all-new design.

The planned BMW Urban Cross is said to be about 13 feet long, working with the same front-wheel drive system as the 2-Series Active Tourer. The original source goes on to say that a plug-in variant may be in the BMW Urban Cross’s future, but there are no fully electric plans at this time.

This new model should come out sometime in 2017, and hopefully, more information about the Audi rival will leak online soon. What do you think about this possible vehicle? Would you drive the BMW Urban Cross?
