Car enthusiasts have awaited the arrival of the updated BMW Alpina B7. The wait will soon be over as BMW has announced its upcoming North American debut at the historic Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. Following its debut, the facelifted BMW Alpina B7 will go on sale in the United States with prices ranging from $128,495 to $135,395.
The updated version of this super-high performance luxury sedan will feature more performance, new design features, and improvements in efficiency. With 30 new parts, the new version includes a modified front fascia fitted with LED fog lights, new upholstery choices for the interior, an upgraded cabin, and ceramic secondary controls. The audio is sure to impress with its state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen Surround Sound System.
The most talked about improvements, however, can be seen in the area of performance. Because the new Alpina B7 is based on the 2013 7-series sedan, it will include the new car’s eight-speed automatic transmission. The facelifted model features an additional 40 horsepower (now 540 hp) and 22 pound-feet of torque (now 538 lb-feet). This 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology helps the Alpina B7 hit a top speed of 194 mph. The speed and acceleration of the updated model is faster than its predecessor and can reach 60 mph from standstill in an impressive 4.3 seconds.
Due to its limited production, the facelifted Alpina B7 is likely to become another collective example of the breed. The B7 will be offered through a European delivery program for buyers worldwide. As was the case with the original Alpina B7 model, the 2013 Alpina B7 will be the only Alpina model officially available to US buyers.
