BMW is going all out for the 2012 London Olympics. In addition to sponsoring the Olympics, they are also introducing two special edition cars in honor of the Olympics. Both the 1 Series and 3 Series are receiving M-style treatment with a sportier suspension, bigger wheels, and special cabins.
The 1 Series special edition comes with more aerodynamic styling, 18-inch M alloy wheels, darkened rear lights, and dark chrome exhaust pipes. BMW also improved the performance on the 1 Series. They will fit it with a sports suspension system developed by BMW high-performance M division. You’ll also find London 2012 exterior badges on the special edition.
The interior has sporty seats with blue stitching and an M Sport multifunction leather steering wheel and gearshift leaver. The Performance Edition will be available in the 116i, 116d, and 118d. The 3 Series gets the same M skin treatment and upscale interior. The Performance Edition will be offered for the 318d and 318i. They will both have special exterior and interior features and suspension. Both special edition cars are offered in Titanium Silver, Alpine White, Bluewater, and Black Sapphire.
The Performance Edition will be available in the United Kingdom.
