We love getting to look at concept cars debuted at various auto shows. They give us a strong hint of what we can expect in upcoming production vehicles. That’s what we have in the BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept revealed at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The concept is rumored to evolve into BMW’s next generation 7-Series sedan.
“Innovative technology and modern luxury have always been an important part of BMW’s brand DNA,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group Design senior vice president.
“We use visionary concept vehicles like the BMW Vision Future Luxury to show where we may be going with these themes in the future, and to give us new inspiration and motivation. The BMW Vision Future Luxury – with its innovative technologies and with meticulous precision and quality in every detail – takes our thinking on modern luxury a logical stage further.”
And boy is the Vision Future Concept bursting with modern luxury, which we at Perillo BMW hope will stay for the production model.
From first glance, BMW’s signature double-kidney grille is clearly visible along with thin, Laserlight technology shining in the headlights and innovative organic LED lighting in the rear. In addition, strategic air channeling, not to mention rear suicide-style doors, further distinguishes the sedan’s bold design.
One of our favorite new tech features is the BMW Vision Head Up Display, which takes the original concept of a Head Up Display one step further by “projecting information directly in the driver’s line of sight onto the road.”
We’re not sure what BMW will choose to keep for the production model when it comes to market, likely as a 2016 model, but we like the direction in which it’s headed. What do you think of the BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept?
