BMW had a great start to the 2014 DTM racing season at Hockenheimring by scoring the first win. DTM is a racing series based in Germany. Marco Wittman driving for BMW Team RMG in the new BMW M4 DTM finished the race at the top of the podium.
Wittman took the lead early in the third lap and kept it for the remainder of the 42 laps. This was his first victory in his DTM career. Two other BMW drivers, Timo Glock and Bruno Spengler, finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
After the race, Wittmann said, “I am overjoyed. After two difficult years for the RMG team, this victory is very good for everyone. I kept an eye on the drivers behind me in the rear-view mirror all the time and I knew that the drivers with option tires would be quicker than me towards the end of the race. However, my margin was big enough”.
The next race will be held at Oschersleben on May 18. Here at Perillo BMW we congratulate Wittman on his first BMW and will be cheering on the whole BMW team for the remainder of the season.
