Perillo BMW Earns 2013 Center of Excellence Award

Every year, BMW of North America LLC chooses a select few BMW dealerships from around the country to earn the title of a “Center of Excellence”. We are proud to announce that Perillo BMW is a recipient of this prestigious award this year and has been named a 2013 Center of Excellence.

BMW of North America examines all 338 BMW across the country and chooses the most successful in terms of customer satisfaction and overall sales. Perillo BMW was one of just 33 dealerships to win the competitive award this year. This puts us in the top 10% of all BMW dealerships nationwide.

Ludwig Willisch, BMW of North America president and CEO said, “We recognize not only these outstanding owners and operators but also their teams who continuously demonstrate the ability to perform in a highly competitive market. It takes commitment, adaptability and consistency to reach the ranks of a COE dealership.”

BMW is World’s Most Valuable Car Brand

BMW has reclaimed the top spot as the world’s most valuable car brand in the annual BrandZ Top 100 global survey. BMW reclaimed the top spot after its value raised nearly 10% over the past 12 months, after losing the title last year to Toyota.

Many researchers believe that the luxury brand’s success has come from strong demand in China and other markets. BMW could see its value increase even more in the coming year, as several new vehicles will be released worldwide, along with new vehicles coming to the United States.

Such vehicles that will be released in the coming year include the i8 and the X1, which will come to America to the first time later this year. The popularity of the M performance line of BMW vehicles as also increased over the past several years.

BMW 3 Series Wins Car and Driver’s 10Best Award

The BMW 3 Series has been named to Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best Cars list for 2012. This marks the unprecedented 21st consecutive year that the BMW 3 Series has been named to the automotive magazine’s list.

This list, which has come out annually since 1983, is based on the best performing vehicles available for the year that are priced below $80,000.

The BMW 3 Series was first introduced in the United States in 1977 and is entering its sixth generation. The 2012 3 Series is available as a coupe, convertible, and sport wagon and also has two- and all-wheel drive variants.

Other BMW vehicles that have appeared on the 10Best List include the 5 Series and Z3 models.

In February 2012, the sixth generation of BMW 3 Series Sedan will launch the new BMW 328i and 335i Sedans which will feature an 8-speed automatic transmission and Auto Start/Stop technology that will make the vehicle more efficient. 

BMW Plant Earns Exporter of the Year Award

Since 1994, the BMW plant it Spartanburg, South Carolina has produced over 1.9 million vehicles. Now it is getting some well-deserved recognition for its efforts over the past year.

BMW Spartanburg PlantThe National Association of Foreign Trade Zones has named the BMW Manufacturing Co. its exporter of the year. The plant represents a $5 billion investment and produces about 1,000 cars every day. It is the only BMW facility that produces the X3, X5 and X6 models.

This plant is the exclusive exporter of passenger vehicles through the Port of Charleston. The plant is projected to create over 260,000 vehicles this year and will export about 70% of them to over 130 markets worldwide. BMW exports have been on the rise in the past few years and look to increase in the future. BMW contributed more than $3.1 billion in exports in 2009 and over $4 billion in 2010. 

This year will be the first full year of production of the X3 model at the facility. The X3 has increased demand for BMW worldwide and the plant will increase their production to 300,000 vehicles in 2012. 

BMW Named Most Sustainable Auto Company for the 7th Year in a Row

German automaker, BMW, was named the world’s most sustainable auto company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index by the SAM Group. This is the seventh consecutive year the BMW has won the prestigious award.

 ”The success of the BMW Group is built on a long-term approach and responsible action. We are pleased to be recognized by the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability,” said Dr Norbert Reithofer, Board of Management Chairman for BMW AG. Reithofer also thanked the company’s 95,000 employees whose day-to-day work made the award possible.

Sustainability has been an important part of BMW’s corporate strategy since its environmental office was established in 1973 – the first of its kind in the automotive industry.

BMW Ranked 3rd Most Popular Brand in the World

RankingTheBrands is a marking agency that publishes the Top 100 list annually. The Ranking the Brands Top 100 list is compiled on the basis of all the rankings throughout the year on rankingthebrands.com. The position of each brand is then determined by the number of rankings in which it appeared, the position per ranking and the importance of a certain ranking (global, continental, national).  For 2011, BMW was ranked the 3rd most popular brand in the world.

Only 2 automotive brands are represented in the top 10 results, proving the overall magnitude of BMW’s high ranking. Customer satisfaction, digital IQ score, and popularity scores all helped the German automaker receive its high marks.

New Index Ranks BMW #1 in Social Media

BMW Facebook PageBMW just recently received the number one ranking in the L2 Prestige 100® Facebook IQ. The index, which is in its first year of existence, ranks luxury brands in categories such as fashion, jewelry and cars on their social media campaigns.

BMW has made it a point to excel in the use of social media to market their vehicles. The German automaker maintains an incredible amount (54) of unique Facebook pages that each correspond to different geographic areas, market segments and products.

“The brand’s global page plays host to 5.5 million fans, and registered the highest engagement rate in the index,” commented Maureen Mullen, Director of Research and Advisory at L2. “With another 50+ Facebook pages catered to local markets and specific models BMW is driving away from the competition.”

So how did L2 came to their conclusion? Participants were analyzed in the categories of size (growth), engagement, programming, and integration. Over 200 data points were used to grade each brand and then overall standards of genius, gifted, average, challenged, or feeble were awarded.

“We see social media as a key component to all of our marketing and communications strategies,” remarked BMW’s Manager of Marketing Communications and Consumer Events, Trudy Hardy. “Over the past several years we’ve made a concerted effort to engage BMW customers and fans through social media channels and are thrilled to see our work recognized.”
